The University of Florence (UNIFI) has its origins in the Studium Generale that the Florentine republic decided to establish in 1321. Today, it is one of the largest research and higher education organisations in Italy. The UNIFI represents one of the largest and most productive systems of public research in Italy. The research signifies a sector of strategic importance for the UNIFI with numerous participations in research projects funded nationally and by the EU. In the context of the VALERECO project, UNIFI participates through the department of Biology.
The scientific background of UNIFI will help them lead and participate in various tasks and WP within the project.
