The VALERECO project returned from Synergy Days 2025 with renewed momentum and valuable insights from two days of engaging dialogue in Rotterdam. The event brought together leading voices in agri-food innovation, offering an inspiring space to explore how digitalisation and biodiversity can jointly shape a more sustainable agricultural future.
Showcasing Biodiversity in Action
At Booth 6, VALERECO presented its approach to creating a biodiversity-anchored legume ecosystem across Europe. The booth served as a meeting point where visitors discovered how legumes contribute to soil health, ecosystem resilience, and sustainable farming practices. Discussions often turned toward the role of Living Labs, not just as research environments, but as collaborative spaces where science meets practice.
Collaboration and Exchange
VALERECO’s co-organised workshops sparked meaningful exchange among participants from research, finance, and policymaking. Together with Hungry EcoCities and BIOFIN-EU, the sessions explored how multidisciplinary Living Labs and innovative financing tools can drive agroecological transformation. The conversations highlighted the importance of connecting digital innovation with biodiversity goals to make agricultural systems more resilient and resource-efficient.
Beyond its formal sessions, Synergy Days offered countless opportunities to connect with other EU-funded projects, explore synergies, and strengthen dialogue on sustainability and data-driven innovation. For VALERECO, these interactions underscored the shared commitment across Europe to building agricultural systems that value both productivity and ecological balance.
The team left Rotterdam inspired by the exchange of ideas, carrying forward new perspectives and collaborations that will enrich VALERECO’s journey toward a more biodiverse and sustainable agri-food future.
